Barcode add to kit customize screen

Hi All.

 

I want to customize the Kit screen to include a barcode reader. Upon scanning the UPC code, the corresponding item should be identified, similar to how it matches the inventory ID. What steps should I include in this process? I am new to working with barcodes, and your guidance would be greatly appreciated
