We are using the Distribution module as as of January 2026 are required to capture attributes for product.  We can set it up on the stock item tab once if it’s based on the item (only 1 vendor).  If there are multiple vendors for the item, how can we setup the attributes to be specific to the vendor?  I realize there is a way to capture the attribute at the lot/serial number level however that would require entry for each item receipt. (Lot of work!)

Example:

Item          Vendor         Brand (Attribute)

85204       Vendor A      New England Food

85204       Vendor B      Kraft

85204       Vendor C      P&G

Hi @NewEnglandFood,

Please refer to This link.
If I understand your problem correctly, you may need to use Matrix Items for this type of scenario.

I don’t think there are any native tools outside of lot tracking for this. Vendor part numbers gets you part of the way there, but isn’t the intended use. Customization is probably your best route.

I recently built a customization to add some vendor specific item attributes to the POVendorInventory DAC. This allows us to store the vendor’s attribute values for a particular item and opens it up to be added to GIs and managed via the Stock Item screen or import scenario.

I should clarify that for each item, we purchase from different vendors.  For each item/vendor key, we have to track the manufacturer part number, product size, inner pack qty, country of origin, and 10+other attributes.  I’m not trying to create multiple items the customer can order.

For instance they order corn, 1 item number.  We determine what vendor we are filling order with. I have to send a data packet indicating the values of the attribute based on the lot that was picked to fill the shipment.
