What is the difference between Qty and BaseQty in Acumatica and when should I use each?

For example the SOShipLineSplit has both a Qty and BaseQty column.  there is also a PackedQty and BasePackedQty on the SOShipLineSplit. This pattern is used with other tables then the SOShipLineSplit though.

Thank,

BaseQty is the BaseQty of the item, Quantity is the Quantity on the document.  For example if you sell a 3Pack of a Widget, but the Base UOM is Each.  Then BaseQty would be 3 and Quantity would be 1.

This can be very important for reporting and GIs, especially if you sell the same item in multiple UOMs.
