Is there a way to schedule an email to be sent at a later date from a sales order from the Activities option?

Can you help me the background for the requirement and what you are trying to achieve it.
We create quotes for customers, and we would like to be able to schedule a follow up email(s) to be sent until the quote is converted to a sales order or closed.
