Question

Removing old customization packages/versions

Hello,

Not quite two months into our Acumatica implementation. I have some older customization packages/version I’d like to remove from production. Is it truly as simple as selecting the row of the customization version and selecting X to delete?

Yes, then click the save button.

Yes, it is.
As long as it is not published (Acumatica doesn’t allow you to delete a published customization package).

Important note: if you rename a published customization package it will allow you to delete it, effectively leaving customizations published. So I recommend you never rename a published package.
If you ever do it, just rename it back to the original name and unpublish first.

Thanks for the replies. In this case, we published subsequent versions e.g., 5, 6, 7 but never unpublished any of the predecessors. In other words, version 5 was published, we get version 6, publish that but never unpublished 5.

I’m assuming the subsequent publishing of 6 overwrote 5 even though it was never technically unpublished?

I cannot be sure without looking at the actual customization packages.

Did you upload them to a different line or did you overwrite the existing one with the new version?

They are uploaded to a different line.

version 5

version 6

version 7

version 8 (published)

OK, then you can just delete all the unpublished old versions.
When you publish a new one with the old ones unchecked you are actually unpublishing all the unchecked versions.

Thanks Marco, appreciate the insight.
