Issues with Customization Projects after upgrade from 2023 R1 to 2024 R2

Hi,

We’ve recently upgraded an environment from 2023 R1 to 2024 R2. Things appear to be working fine besides some Customization Projects in the Customization Project Editor. It appears that if a Customization Project has a screen, it throws an error when loading the Customization Project Editor window. Here is the error:

This happens both on a pre-existing Customization Project before the upgrade, as well as a newly created Customization Project after the upgrade after a screen is created.

The look of the menu is off as well in the Customization Project Editor, my guess is the Exception was thrown while building the menu.

After doing some digging, I found the following stack trace with the exception matching the error above:

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue or know a workaround to edit these Customization Projects?

Thanks,

Kyle

@kylehayhurst Check your sitemap and there must be a record with Url equal Null.

@kylehayhurst This is a common problem when publishing printed reports (created in report designer app) since you have to remember to setup the site map. This help guide under “publishing reports” will give you the steps of configuring the sitemap correctly Report Creation: General Information

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick responses! It turned out, as part of the upgrade the Customization Projects were updated as well, no longer needing a few screens. These screens had null values for Url as suspected by @hkabiri. Once these screens were deleted, the Customization Project Editor appears to be working as expected.
