Hi all! Hope your day is going well!

It's finally the slow season at my company and I wanna jump into the long list of customization projects that have been put on hold. There's only one issue:

I can't get our information into any of the DB's I create through the Acumatica ERP Configuration Wizard due to the Snapshot being 6GB and the limit of 1.5 for restoring snapshots in the created DB.

I found this post from four years ago: https://community.acumatica.com/configuration-and-installation-114/import-snapshot-into-test-environment-6303?postid=128322#post128322

But I don't understand how I would Backup the DB and the Restore it this way due to not being familiar with those processes listed.

Could someone help with a more dumbed down version of how to get my Company's data into a sandbox instance? I don't care what method so long as i

Hi @lunarchickadee Have you tried taking a snapshot without attachments and wikis? This makes the snapshot considerably smaller.

Regarding DB backup method, is your instance cloud hosted by Acumatica? If yes, you would need to request a backup from Acumatica, and I believe there's a fee.

"If yes, you would need to request a backup from Acumatica, and I believe there's a fee."

Another good reason to host your own DB server. Having direct access to your DB and doing external REST interfaces to other sources (e-commerce, custom apps,...) and writing to custom tables in your Acumatica tenant DB relieves the customization effort in Acumatica.

@jhouser I haven’t yet, but that’s a solid point on the smaller snapshot. I could probably run one this weekend and see

And yeah, I think we’re hosted with Acumatica. Does anyone happen to know the fee?

@lunarchickadee Regarding the fee, I would check with your VAR.

@lunarchickadee Regarding the fee, I would check with your VAR.

It is worth asking the cost of an ongoing backup. e.g. daily to an sFTP location you can access anytime.
Cost will depend on your plan
