I have just upgraded my Acumatica to the 2024 R2 version (24.204.0004) and I am having trouble viewing one of my customization projects. When I click on the project on the ‘Customization Projects’ page the popup window appears and spins for about 30-45minutes until some of the project details appear but then it continues to spin for 30+minutes (I still haven’t been able to fully load this project in the popup window).
This customization project is pretty large but in the past it has only taken 3-5minutes to fully load. Is there a reason why this is taking longer with the 2024 R2 version or are there any methods to diagnose this issue? Any help/suggestions are highly appreciated!

We ended up breaking up our large customization project into several smaller projects which has cleared up the extremely long load time, we suspected having too many Files, Database Scripts, etc in a single project was causing the issue.
What version did you upgrade from? You said that your customization project is large - is any of your code within DLL files or does your customization project also contain the code logic as well?

I upgraded from version 2023 R2 (23.211.0017) and I have a separate cust. project that contains all my DLL files. This “Core” cust. project that is having the extremely long wait time contains a fairly large amount of screens, files, generic inquiries, site maps, database scripts, etc…
The folder itself for this cust. project is only 1.35 MB and the other cust. project that contains the DLL files is 7.41MB. Other smaller cust. projects are around 150-250KB in size.
I am able to open the project with the DLL files and all of the other projects but this Core cust. project is still taking 10-20+ minutes to display the initial project details and even then it continues to load the rest of the content.
I was able to get the project to load after about 30ish minutes and here is a snapshot of what the project contains :
There are 33 entries under the SCREENS menu for customized screens.
I have experienced longer loading times for customisation project with the modern UI, some do not load…
You could try to run it with the classic UI and see if that helps, it helped me.

Whoops meant to reply to this sooner - I am running on the classic UI and still encountering the long load times for this customization project. I forgot to mention that I am working remotely, I’ve had other team members that work on site reporting that they can load this project within 2-3minutes so it may be an issue with our VPN or remote connections are causing extra long wait times when opening larger customization projects.
I have the exact same problem. I upgraded to 2024 R2 from 2023 R2. All pages come up quick except for the customization window. Takes about 30 min for any project to load.
Any solutions for this issue?

That is strange, the only other thing I could think of is an issue with the database causing lengthy wait times (especially if you have a remote connection). Maybe try repairing your database using the ERP tool to see if that clears up the issue.

+2Yes, after upgrading to 2025r1 GA from 2023r2, everything was super slow. Almost unusable. Now, after upgrading to 2025r1 service pack 1, our cylinder tracking customization project (size of an ISV solution) works at the speed as all smaller customization projects now.
I would expand screens… but that's too much :D
