Question

Custom UI - using third party control

We have a project that will require some UI capabilities that just don’t appear to be possible with the current Acumatica toolset.  I know I could do what I need with some telerik or other third party html5 controls or even asp.net controls.  Is there any way to incorporate those into an Acumatica screen and use javascript or even the code behind to push/pull data into and out of the controls?

The current UI system doesn't make it easy to create custom controls. If at all possible I would avoid it and look at alternative solutions.

It is possible to create custom asp.net controls, you would have to add the controls to the Web.Config file. You could then extend one of the standard controls and customize it as needed.

You can in theory use JavaScript and html to create custom controls as well but I can’t say I have tried that. In theory you may be able to create a custom control and have it synchronized to a standard Acumatica control to handle the data push/pull.

Yeah, the dilemma is that using the standard controls there is no way to make what I am doing UI friendly to the user.  Trying not to go into a lot of detail or what we need to do, but based on data/configuration I need to prompt the user for a whole bunch of different things in different formats and there’s just no way to do it with the existing UI option.

Does anyone have any example of how to do something like this?
