Can we open the PDF file on the Acumatica screen

Not sure if you can use this - but once you retrieve the file into a PX.SM.FileInfo object 

eg PX.SM.FileInfo file;

You display the file in either a new screen on inline with:

throw new PXRedirectToFileException(file, false);  This opens up the default Acumatica PDF frame.

I also noticed that in 2020R2 there was improved PDF handling. I have not investigated this - but it would be nice to see the selected pdf in a panel or side panel

Anyone getting this message in 2021 R2?  SM400009 doesn’t exist.

@Nancybielke83 did you get  this figured out?  We are on 2022 R1 and I am trying to add attachment preview to a GI and get the same error.
