I recently encountered an issue with Acumatica 25R2 SP1 where publishing any customization project caused the Graph Type field in the Site Map to become blank for all custom Modern UI screens.
The issue affected multiple development instances but did not occur in our production, sandbox, or other development environments.
Root Cause
After extensive troubleshooting, I traced the behavior to the following setting in Web.config:
<add key="NodeJs:CompileAllScreens" value="true" />When enabled, this setting causes Acumatica to use the root nodejs.config during compilation. That configuration does not include the plugin used to process custom Modern UI screen metadata.
As a result, JavaScript compilation and customization publishing complete successfully, but the metadata needed to resolve Graph Types for custom Modern UI screens is not generated correctly.
Resolution
Removing the NodeJs:CompileAllScreens setting from Web.config resolved the issue in my environment.
Neither of our fresh 25R2 installations included this setting by default, although I found it documented in the 24R2 UI Development Guide.
Additional Observations
-
Updating Acumatica to the latest patch temporarily restored the Graph Types, but publishing again removed them.
-
The issue affected all custom Modern UI screens, regardless of which customization project was published.
-
The customizations themselves worked correctly on other instances.
-
Compilation completed without apparent errors.
-
Both single-tenant and multi-tenant configurations exhibited the behavior.
I haven't found documentation indicating whether NodeJs:CompileAllScreens is still supported or recommended in 25R2.
Has anyone else encountered this behavior, or can Acumatica confirm whether this setting is still supported in 25R2?
