Validate BOM on stock item

I need to validate that the Default BOM ID was captured for stock items with a specified prefix. I added an event to RowUpdating, when I try to get the extension from InventoryItemExt there was an error that this class is obsolete. Now I am not sure how to get the AMBOMID value from the InventoryItem DAC.
