Marketing>Task>Activities upon saving status remains open

Upon saving the created activity for a task, status remains open what could be the reason behind it. Would like to know your inputs, thank you.

If the activitiy type is work item then We have an option to enable thecheckbox “ Track time and costs”



once it is enabled the status will be open and user has to mark as complete manually.
