Hi all,

We recently just upgrade to 26R1 and now whenever we try to download email activities as .EML files, they open with a gibberish string such as the one below.

Has anyone had this issue?

@JonesA that string isn't junk. It's the HTML body of the email, base64-encoded. Decoded, it starts with an <html> tag, a utf-8 meta tag, and then "Hello," which is the opening line of the message. The content is there. It just isn't being decoded when the file opens.

It helps to know where the file comes from. Download .eml file on the Email Activity (CR306015) form doesn't export the copy stored in Acumatica. It connects to the mail server through the email account, fetches the original message by its IMAP or POP3 ID, and writes that out as the .eml. So the file is built from what's on the mail server.

If you came up from 2025 R2, that download code didn't change in 2026 R1. We also ran a standard HTML email (plain text and HTML parts, both base64) through the 2026 R1 mail parser and writer, and it came back with its encoding headers intact.

Open one of the bad files in Notepad and look at the few lines just above the encoded block.
- If Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 sits right above it, the part is labeled correctly and the program opening the file isn't decoding it. Try a different mail client.
- If that line is missing, the file itself is malformed. Open a case with Acumatica support and attach the .eml.
