Proforma/AIA Retainage Invoice on the same date

The method in which retainage for Proforma/AIA invoices is done, is causing extra work on our team. With Acumatica's method of not being able to run an invoice and a retainage invoice with the same date has a high risk for error and corrections. A product enhancement to change the function and flow for retainage invoices that require an AIA should be looked at. Our legacy system allowed us to process these easier. Is there anything in the works to enhance this function?

    I agree, our legacy system allowed us to print a retention pay app with any date on it, however did not release the retention yet, (Unless we chose to), just gave us the pay app for the customer/GC (AR would release the retention when the payment was received).

    I’m afraid to release retention in Acumatica too soon, because what happens if a customer/GC comes back with a CO months later and my retention is already released. After I add the CO and bill it only the retention will be left for the CO, not the entire job. Has anyone run into this issue? Or is there a way to bill the entire retention again, that I am not aware of?

    We are a subcontractor, so we are at the mercy of the general contractors to give them what they want/need.
