We have noticed that even if a Task in a project has been labeled as a ‘Revenue Only’ task, costs are still able to be assigned to it in the form of material purchases and inventory transfers. Is this how it was intended to function?

Sure! Below is a screenshot of the tasks and then the Transfer screen that allows transfers of inventory items into a Revenue only task. I may have misspoke, it will not let me purchase materials to a revenue task, but it will let me transfer items into it.

There is not a Reason code on the transfer. However, when we go to issue it out of a project, it will not create the issue. I’m guessing due to the task, but then the inventory item is stuck in the project in perpetuity. I guess the main issue here is that it is allowing transfers.

HI Heidi - The difference is in the screen above you are looking at Inventory Issues. The problem is that the system will allow you to perform an inventory transfer into a Revenue Only task. From there, you cannot issue out of it. Happy to submit a case.
