I’ve heard some say yes, because it’s necessary to maintain accurate project balances. However, I’ve also seen someone say no, it should not have to be done as part of normal operations, suggesting incorrect project balances are a symptom of something going wrong and needing to be corrected.

Our business partner has advised it as a good process. I do not believe it can be the result of an individual doing something erroneous, but rather more likely attributed to something at a system level not updating all tables properly, think of when you might lose internet.
