Wonder if anyone has started looking into the new Materials Management feature in the Construction edition and if so, any thoughts/feedback on it?

It looks like it shows promise but we aren’t going to be using this in a typical construction scenario since we are focused on Custom Engineering projects and simpler/smaller types of transactions where we aren’t using hundreds of materials.

Thank you.

NOTE for Acumatica, please add a Tag for “Material Management” for posts.

If you have manufacturing, it is not needed.

@ggnabasik47, this new feature in 26R1 is the beginning of construction enhancements related to the project buyout processes. There will be additional features/functions coming in the next few releases through 2027. This first set of functionality focuses on Project Materials Management. There is a new form that allows you to track materials throughout their lifecycle, directly tied to project budget lines. You can reserve stock (inventory), trigger purchases to project sites, and execute material issues from a single centralized view. This helps with the limited integration between requisitions and projects today.
