What can I do with a user that constantly is getting locked out? Besides clearing temporary files and cookies, what can be done to minimize this issue?

Clearing temp files and cookies, I don’t see how that would be the issue.  The first question to answer is why are they getting locked out?

Are they entering the password incorrectly multiple times?

Do they have the incorrect password saved to their browser and continue logging in with it?

Is another user maliciously entering the other user’s login wrong purposely to lock them out?

Is the user using Odata and it is passing the incorrect login/password causing the lock out?

Logins are “dumb” in that they look at does A = B.  There isn’t any intelligence there.  So at the end of the day, a standard login will only lock out if the incorrect password is being entered.

Hi @ehernandez

In Acumatica, frequent user lockouts usually occur due to repeated login attempts from saved or outdated credentials, mobile app sessions, or integrations using the same user account. To minimize this issue, users should clear saved passwords from browsers and the Windows Credential Manager and re-login after any password reset. User lockouts can also occur if the maximum number of allowed active users for the instance has been reached or if the same user is already logged in through another channel, such as the Acumatica mobile app. In such cases, additional login attempts may fail and contribute to account lockouts. It is recommended to verify the number of active users and review current sessions, which can be monitored from the System Monitor screen.

Hope above helps!

Just speaking anecdotally (and echoing @travislawson’s post above), this happens in my organization when a user is juggling multiple password managers.  They often don’t realize they are utilizing both the native browser manager and an external one.  One of them (usually the browser one) is forcing an incorrect password in.

If that’s the case, disable the manager that isn’t being used to clear the conflict.  Best of luck!
