Upgrading from Retired Version to Current Version

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hi,

We have an inherited client that is on 22.214 and needs to go to 24.210. I know there’s not a direct upgrade process and there will be a couple steps in between. I * think * the path is this:

Current Version Build Update Intermediate Version Final Version
22.214.0019 22.223.0007 23.120.0004 24.210.0019

My questions are these:

  1. Do I create a sandbox for just the 24R2 version, or do we have to test in each?
  2. Does Acumatica process the upgrade sequentially in one evening, or will the client have to ‘live’ in each progressive version for a particular period of time?

I haven’t processed an upgrade like this and want to be as efficient with the client as possible.

Thanks!

Hello @tonym68

  1. Do I create a sandbox for just the 24R2 version, or do we have to test in each? Yes, the final version of the sandbox will be the one that contains all fixes and enhancements. The intermediate versions will not have an impact
  2. Does Acumatica process the upgrade sequentially in one evening, or will the client have to ‘live’ in each progressive version for a particular period of time? It is sequential, however since there are 3 build versions to be upgraded to the down time will be more than it is required for one upgrade

Will the upgrade be able to be handled over a weekend still?

That should be possible. For SaaS clients upgrade can be requested per the below KB
