One tenant: two construction Companies with multiple branches, different chart of accounts

Hi I have one well configured Construction tenant with one company with 15 branches. We are taking over another company that also does construction that has different chart of account. I think I can get everything setup by using access and restriction groups. But it will a pain sharing vendor amongst other things. If it helps one is 4 digit and one is 5 digits.

Is this a bad way of thinking? Should I just stand them up as a different tenant? Help appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@nwohlschlaeger94

Multi company is not recommended if they are using separate Chart of Accounts.

Are you able to “remap” the new company’s chart of account and vendors to your lists and merge them in that way?  Then you could still have 2 companies and manage your access rights that way, but having two overlapping chart of accounts in a single tenant will be messy.

So, the new company has mapped to the 4 digit designation of our parent company. My existing company with 5 digits does not adhere to the parent company. It would be a big lift for my current company to get us to translate everything. It probably needs to be done at some point, but the parent company has not pushed the issue because we built a batch job that does the translation for us. We might have 4 or 5 accounts that consolidate to 1 account at parent company. See below. Any advice

50010 JC - MATERIAL WRITE OFF ACCOUNT COGS

50030 MATERIAL PRICE VARIANCE COGS
50050 INTERNAL ISSUE REVENUE ACCOUNT COGS
