Hi everyone,

I’d like to share a simple but useful branding customization tip for Acumatica:
changing the background images on the Acumatica login screen.

This is a small change, but it helps reinforce company branding and improves the first impression for users logging into the system every day.

Below is the practical step-by-step approach we usually follow.

1. Prerequisites

Before making any changes, make sure you have:

  • Administrator access to the Acumatica server (IIS)

  • Background images in JPG format, recommended size 1500 x 1000 px

  • Access to the Acumatica instance folder on the server

Default image location:

C:\Program Files\Acumatica ERP\{instance_name}\Icons

(Replace {instance_name} with your actual instance name.)

2. Steps to change the login background

Step 1: Prepare your images

  • Choose high-quality images aligned with your company branding

  • Resize to 1500 x 1000 px

  • Save as JPG

  • Use the following naming convention:

    • login_bg1.jpg

    • login_bg2.jpg

    • login_bg3.jpg (and so on)

Step 2: Access the login image folder

  • Log in to the Acumatica server

  • Navigate to:

C:\Program Files\Acumatica ERP\{instance_name}\Icons

This folder contains the images used by the Acumatica login screen.

Step 3: Replace the default images

  • Back up the existing files (recommended)

  • Copy your new images into the folder

  • Overwrite the existing login_bg*.jpg files

  • Make sure file names match exactly

Step 4: Apply and verify

  • Clear browser cache and refresh the login page (Ctrl + F5)

  • Press F5 to cycle through background images

  • If changes don’t appear, restart IIS:

iisreset

3. Result

After completing these steps, the Acumatica login screen will display your customized background images instead of the default ones.

4. Important considerations

  • Use JPG format only

  • Keep the recommended image size to avoid distortion

  • Always back up original files before replacing them

5. Notes on further branding

This method customizes the background images only.
For deeper branding (logos, colors, full white-labeling), Acumatica’s White Labeling options should be considered.

Curious to hear from others:

  • Have you customized your Acumatica login screen?

  • Are you using branding or white-labeling features in production?

Hope this helps someone looking to improve the Acumatica user experience.
