Hi
There is no option available to specifically route the approval document to alternate resource when an approver is on leave. However, you may make use of ‘Decision wait time’ column on Approval map to make the pending approval document visible to a higher level employee/ manager on Company tree.
After lapse of time mentioned on ‘Decision wait time’, the document becomes visible to higher level users on Company tree.
