Tim Rodman:
I grew up in San Diego and went to UCLA for college, where I majored in Applied Mathematics and minored in Accounting and Computer Programming. It turns out that was pretty good academic prep for ERP, but I didn't know what ERP was at the time, so my first job out of college was as a Financial Auditor for Deloitte, working out of the downtown Los Angeles office. I got my CPA license and accidentally landed in the world of Midmarket ERP in 2005, working with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Sage 500. That "accidental" path is pretty common, I think, for many (maybe most?) of us in this space.
In April 2013, I sweet-talked an Acumatica VAR into sneaking me into the Acumatica Portal so I could download and install the software. In exchange, we agreed to talk periodically and compare notes. When I sat down to install Acumatica for the first time, I thought that it would be a good idea to take notes, but, for some reason, when I would take notes in a Word document, I had trouble finding them later. So, I decided to take my notes in the form of blog posts that I could search using a Google search. You can still find those blog posts today at what is now AugForums.com.
In September 2015, I went to work at Acumatica, turning what had been a hobby up until that point into a full-time job. Since then, I have worked at a couple of different Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and, since November 2020, I've been an Independent Acumatica Consultant, living and dying by the billable hour, running everything through my AugForums, LLC legal entity.
In May 2017, I converted my blogging energy into online forums at AugForums.com, where over 1,000 people generated over 10,000 posts over the course of several years. These days, what little forum energy I have goes into this Community.Acumatica.com site since there's a ton of traffic here and Chris Hackett does a great job managing all the chaos.
Most of my "community energy" these days goes into an Acumatica Podcast at AugForums.com/Podcast. Started in November 2019, with up to over 160 episodes at this point, I recently converted the format into a weekly-ish live broadcast over LinkedIn and YouTube Live on Friday afternoons US Eastern Time. If you'd ever like to join me on an episode to chat about something in Acumatica, show something that you've been working on in Acumatica, or describe a struggle that you're having with Acumatica, please click the Become a Guest button on the page at

In August 2024, I began spending most of my "work time" working with Traild, an Acumatica Accounts Payable Automation Partner. I did this because I wanted to work with a product that was built from scratch on modern AI technology and, more importantly, Traild had a lot of enthusiastic customers that loved the product which is even more important to me than any fancy tech. At Acumatica Summit 2026, we received the ISV Partner of the Year Award which is not a popularity contest, but based on the top-selling ISV solution for all of 2025. Personally, I don't think it has to do with any one thing, but a lot of little things that go into making AP Automation actually work in the real world. Working with Traild has allowed me to travel around and participate in a lot of Acumatica User Groups in person which has been a great experience. More info on Traild here:
Thank you to the Acumatica community for being so much fun to be a part of. I also appreciate all of the MVP awards that I've received over the years. The award that I appreciate the most, though, was one that I received back in 2014. It was the 2014 Community Spirit Award given to Tim Rodman, Perpetual Acumatica Learner. No matter how long I've been around the Acumatica ecosystem, I never view myself as an "expert" but rather a "professional learner" who endeavors to learn something new about Acumatica every day.
Moderator notes:
MVP profiles are closed to comments in order to provide the respective MVP with a page they can use for their brand. You may congratulate them by clicking on the user name and private messaging them.
The Acumatica MVP program recognizes outstanding community engagement, technical expertise, and thought leadership in the Acumatica ecosystem — honoring individuals who excel in driving innovation, supporting users, and promoting best practices for collaborative business growth.
