Meet Rohit Rattan our Acumatica Community Featured Member for August 2026. It’s great to have you as part of the Acumatica Community
Hi everyone! Honestly, I'm still a bit surprised to be this month's Featured Member — I mostly just help figure out why things break, so I didn't expect to be the one in the spotlight. But happy to share a bit about myself.
How I Ended Up Here
Before Acumatica, I was a one-man IT department at a fabrication and manufacturing shop — the kind of role where your job title says one thing, but your actual day could be anything. One minute I'm resetting someone's password, the next I'm elbow-deep in server administration, and by the afternoon I'm writing customizations for the ERP system because, well, nobody else was going to. User support, sysadmin, ERP admin, and developer — all on the same day, often in the same hour. I like to say I got a five-year crash course in "figure it out," which turns out to be excellent training for support work.
I joined Acumatica in February 2023 in Developer Support, then moved into the ISV Technical Account Manager role in March 2024. My job, in short: help ISVs and developers when their integrations, customizations, or connectors do something Acumatica was never told they'd do.
What I Actually Do (Allegedly)
Working in ISV/Dev support means I get to investigate genuinely strange issues — the kind where a customization worked perfectly in Sandbox, broke in Production, and nobody touched anything (allegedly). Some days it's satisfying "found it, it was a caching issue from three deployments ago." Other days it's the classic global-developer-support special: the bug shows up once, at 2am in somebody else's time zone, is never reproduced again, and the ticket quietly closes itself while everyone pretends that's a resolution.
I've made peace with the fact that not every case ends with an answer. Sometimes the best outcome is a good workaround, and a support note for whoever finds this ticket in two years.
My Real Team
I live in Calgary, Alberta — home of the Stampede, the Rockies twenty minutes away on a clear day, and a climate that can't decide what season it wants to be (we get chinook winds that can swing temperatures by 20°C in an afternoon, which honestly feels like a fitting metaphor for support tickets).
At home, it's me, my wife, my mom, and my two-year-old daughter, who is basically her own release cycle — no changelog, no warning, constant breaking changes. She's discovered the word "why" and now runs it in a loop with no exit condition. Debugging a toddler is harder than debugging any integration I've worked on.
Outside of Work
In my (limited) free time, I read books and listen to podcasts whenever I get a quiet moment and take my daughter to the park as often as I can — she's currently at the stage where every trip down the slide needs a full replay from the top, so patience is basically a job requirement at home too. We're lucky to be so close to the mountains, so a few times a year we load up the car and head out to Banff for a day or two. Doesn't really matter what we do once we're there, just nice to get away for a bit.
Thanks for reading — happy to connect if you're working on anything ISV/Dev related, always good to chat with others in space.
