Hello Acumatica friends!  My name is Renee Schafer. I grew up on a small family owned and operated pig farm in Northeast Nebraska. After receiving a scholarship to Nebraska Wesleyan University, I moved to Lincoln where I started as a sales representative at Data Security, Inc. My plan at the time was to work to pay my way through college and then move on... Twenty-six years later, I am the Chief Operations Officer at Data Security Inc., a very busy, but rewarding role.

My current role involves navigating the company through strategic decisions and effective management of all departments while simultaneously working directly with the U.S. National Security Agency, data destruction scientists and electronic media storage experts. I am also a member of the Forbes Business council, the FBI’s InfraGard, FBI Citizen’s Academy, the iSIGMA America’s Advocacy Committee and was the first Certified Secure Destruction Specialist in the state of Nebraska!

As you can tell, I am very passionate about protecting data at end-of-life, as well as helping others grow their businesses. We have been part of Acumatica since the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020. Our implementation during that time was a unique experience!  Thanks to the Acumatica ERP’s ability to provide access to live data, businesses can make real-time decisions, and we believe that is the key to a healthy and profitable business. An enterprise resource planning software is synonymous with strategy for me and makes a difference in the success or failure of a company. I am very thankful for the community at Acumatica, and to have a place where I can provide my experience to others as they ask. I have been stopped often by people who ask me about our ERP and I openly share how much I love Acumatica.

When I am not busy working, I adore being a mom and staying involved with my community’s different outreach centers, and my local church. Thank you for the opportunity to be featured as one of Acumatica’s MVP and I am always happy to share my experience and knowledge with any of you!
