Hi Everyone!

I'm Michael Shirk, a Solutions Developer at Pine View Buildings, based out of Statesville, NC.
We're an Acumatica customer - a manufacturer of highly customizable storage buildings, with our own sales and distribution networks.

I've been with Pine View Buildings since 2019, and have worked with Acumatica in some capacity since 2021.

As a developer for a smaller Acumatica customer, my responsibilities include meeting with department heads and other stakeholders to review opportunities for process improvements or entirely new processes, developing the customizations to support those processes, and then providing user training and overseeing implementation.
Whether it's a small report or GI, or a complex integration with an external SAAS platform, it's fulfilling being at a small enough company to take ownership of projects from discovery through implementation. I have the privilege of seeing the impact of my work on a daily basis.

Being named one of the 2025 Acumatica MVPs has been quite a surprising honor, and I feel like the most unlikely recipient.
I was raised on a farm and didn't have any sort of technical background before coming to Pine View Buildings. I'm grateful that they took my technical interests seriously and allowed me to study software development on-the-job, after I had helped with configuration of the system for go-live with manufacturing and distribution.

The creative, collaborative, problem solving is probably my favorite part of what I do. I love writing code, but I enjoy it because it allows me to solve complex, real world problems by automating and improving processes.

When I'm not at work, I'm probably spending time with my wonderful wife. We love playing logic and strategy games like Chess and Catan, reading, walking and hiking, traveling, and having friends over for dinner.

I recently completed my Acumatica Developer certification and can't wait to see where it will take me in the future!
