Meet Karthik Gajendran our Acumatica Community Featured Member for April 2026. It’s great to have you as part of the Acumatica Community
Recently Chris Hackett reached out to me and said I got selected as Featured Member of the Month in the Acumatica Community, which honestly made me pause and think…
“Wait… are you sure you picked the right person?” 😄
So, here’s a little about me, the short, honest, and heavily edited for entertainment purpose.
Where It All Started
I come from a small village in the southern part of India, the kind of place where Google Maps politely gives up halfway.
I was the first graduate in my family and the first engineer from my village. These days, there are many more… so I like to think I started a trend. 😄
I grew up in a big joint family, which was basically my first training ground for
- Communication
- Conflict resolution and
- Stakeholder management 😝
How I Got Here
My career started in 2014 as an EDI Analyst at a company now called as CGS in Montreal, where I did everything from support to implementation to business analysis. Basically, mastered the art of looking busy. 😃
In 2017, I joined Acumatica as a Business Analyst.
Fun fact: I chose Acumatica partly because it was a 7-minute walk from my home… and mainly because the office had a free beer tap (priorities matter).
From there, the journey has been incredible:
- Business Analyst
- Senior Business Analyst
- Lead Business Analyst
- Technical Product Manager
- Senior Technical Product Manager (2026)
Along the way, I found what I truly enjoy, solving problems, building products, and working with amazing people.
One of the most special parts of my journey has been building the Commerce team from scratch back in 2019 with Sergey Marenich and Josh Fisher. Watching it grow from zero to what it is today has been incredibly rewarding.
I genuinely enjoy what I do, especially working with this community.
The discussions, ideas, and collaboration here are what make it special.
Grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead.
If you’ve interacted with me here, thank you!
If not, feel free to say hi. I’m always happy to talk product, ideas especially with respect to AI.
My Real Team
Behind everything I do is my family, my biggest support system.
My wife, Bargavi
The CEO of my life.
She works at SAP, so I must compete not only at work but also at home. She’s the reason everything runs smoothly from our home to my life and somehow still has the patience to deal with me daily.
She conducts quarterly performance reviews and most of the time, I am rated “Below Expectations”. 😄
My daughter, Aira (3yrs old)
Tiny human, big beautiful boss. She runs the house with zero documentation and zero approvals. For me answering in community is easier than answering her questions. She asked me why "Oh My God" is a right word but not Oh My Godness". How do I explain her it is Oh my goodness not godness. Open to suggestions from the community! 😄
My son, Prana(1 year old)
Newest release. Still in beta. But he strongly believes he’s production ready. High energy, low sleep and extremely skilled at breaking things I didn’t even know could break.
System stability: 0%
Parent support load: 100% 😄
They keep me grounded, motivated, tired, and occasionally humbled on a daily basis.
I played cricket and basketball at a competitive level (now mostly from the couch). I enjoy changing my look often. Think of it as version upgrades. Same product, new UI.
So don’t be surprised if I look like a completely different release next time.
