Acumatica is updating its patch release policy to reflect our continued investment in a faster, more predictable release cadence. This post explains what is changing, when it takes effect, and what it means for you.
Why We Are Making This Change
As Acumatica continues to invest in a modern, high-cadence release model, our patching approach is evolving to focus quality efforts on current and near-current releases. By consolidating patch activity, we can deliver higher-quality updates more efficiently and help customers benefit from the latest capabilities sooner.
What Is Changing
We are moving towards an on-demand model for patches. With patches no longer scheduled, they will not interrupt your business. Even though patches are quick, moving to an on-demand model will enable us to add more value and functionality to our products.
2025 R1 — Scheduled Patches Through May 26, 2026
Acumatica will release two additional patches for 2025 R1 during a transitional period. The final regularly scheduled patch for 2025 R1 will be released on or before May 26, 2026. Critical issues will be addressed through on-demand patches going forward.
Scheduled Patching Transitions with 2026 R2 Release
Beginning with the release of 2026 R2 (early October 2026), we will move to an on-demand model with patches for critical issues.
How Do On-Demand Patches Work?
We recognize that some situations may require a patch outside of the regular release schedule, even for versions that have reached the transition from scheduled patching. On-demand patching will follow the same guidelines for addressing critical fixes and will be delivered as needed instead of on a fixed schedule.
Your designated contacts subscribed for “IT and SaaS Notices “on the customer portal will receive an email notification at least 5 days in advance, unless the patch is designated as emergency maintenance and in such event, we will provide the notification as soon as possible.
For PCS customers, Patches are made available on Acumatica Community, along with instructions on how to install them.
