What’s included in this update:

  • A new section on Redesigned Report Forms in the Modern UI
  • An updated chapter, Converting a Customization Project to the Modern UI: Introduction, that describes the new converter for customization projects

Thank you for this. Is there a specified version when the Modern UI will be mandatory?

Hi @tonym68, Acumatica ERP 2026 R1 is the last version that supports the Classic UI. Starting in Acumatica ERP 2026 R2, it will no longer be possible to switch your instance to the Classic UI.

Hi @tonym68, Acumatica ERP 2026 R1 is the last version that supports the Classic UI. Starting in Acumatica ERP 2026 R2, it will no longer be possible to switch your instance to the Classic UI.

We upgraded numerous clients to Acumatica 2025 R2 with high expectations for the new Modern UI. Unfortunately, many have had to revert a significant number of screens back to the Classic UI due to ongoing issues.

Our ISV partners, who had updated their customization packages to support the Modern UI, have also been forced to re-deploy the Classic versions for various reasons.

That said, our clients genuinely appreciate the sleek design and the additional functionality highlighted in Acumatica’s marketing of the Modern UI. Many continue to experiment with it on select screens. However, it still feels far from production-ready in its current state.

Performance has been a major pain point: the Modern UI is significantly slower than the Classic UI. We have had to increase SQL command timeouts from the default 30 seconds to over 2 minutes just to prevent frequent timeout errors on many Generic Inquiries. Even with the extended timeout, screens often take several minutes to load, leading most users to give up and switch back to the Classic UI.

We are fortunate to have many understanding and patient clients who recognize this as a major platform change and accept that challenges are to be expected. Nevertheless, our support queue has grown dramatically, and our own support cases with Acumatica have increased substantially as a result.

In response, we have adjusted our upgrade deployment strategy: we now default new 2025 R2 installations and upgrades to the Classic UI. We assure clients that Acumatica is actively addressing the issues and that we will guide them through a smooth transition to the Modern UI once it stabilizes.
