Question

apply a group level qty discount applied to a line leve discount

Is there any way to have a discount calculate from a group level but apply the discount as a line discount instead of a document discount?

The example is: we give a qty discount on a specific brand (which is an item class), 2+ = 10% discount / 4+ = 20% discount.

I can make it give the proper discount using a  document discount, however, the problem this is more difficult for reports where we track profitability per item sku and also returns etc. As the line amount per unit doesn’t reflect the discount.

I don’t think there is a way to do what I want but thought I would check.

Hi @thinkinkllc

You can create a Line discount by item price class in the Discount Codes screen with: Discount Type as "Line" and Applicable To as: Item Price Class

In the Discounts screen you create as shown in the screenshot below.

And you need to create an Item Price Class that is similar to the Item Class of that item.

Best Regards,

NNT

Thank you for you detailed reply, however it does not seem to do what we are needing. I may not have been clear.

I am needing the “break by quantity” to calculate across all lines , so that if 2 lines with a qty of 1 ea of the qualifying price class are entered, it will apply the 2+ 10% discount to both lines.
