Hi All,

Could you please advise on the best approach to transfer Generic Inquiry data to the customer’s external SQL Server database? The data needs to be transferred and synchronized periodically.

Thanks

Hello.  I use SQL Server Integration Services to take a nightly snapshot of select Acumatica data (using the OData data source).  We have some heavy reporting needs and nightly data usually works in our situation.

I found this helpful:  https://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/3220/using-the-odata-source-in-sql-server-integration-services/

I’m sure there are much more elegant ways with current technology, but this has worked for years for us.

Hi, thanks for sharing your setup process. I just wanted to clarify — is the snapshot process you're using fully automated through SSIS, or do you need to manually export the snapshot from Acumatica and then run the SSIS package to load the data? I'm currently looking for a fully automated solution and want to understand if any manual steps are involved in your approach.

Yes, the process is fully automated.  Once the SSIS package is developed, deploy it.  Once deployed, it can then be put on a SQL Server Agent / Job to execute the SSIS Package on a schedule.

This should assist with more detail:  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/integration-services/packages/sql-server-agent-jobs-for-packages?view=sql-server-ver16#schedule
