As an exercise to learn Report Designer more, im trying to make a simple report from scratch. I’ve done some googling and reading here, but can’t seem to find the answer.

The report is a BackOrder report i want to send to certain customers using Business Events. I have the GI Made and is working great.

My report is coming along, Im running into a snag where its not showing all line items for the “Order Nbr.” but Im unsure howto get it to display correctly. My assumption is its the way I’ve formatted the expression editor for this value?

My next problem is i can’t quite get the lines to group together cleanly, there is always a gap.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Try saving the report with “save as” instead of Save to Server, then use Zip utility to create a .zip file that can be attached here.

When a report has too many or too few lines, 1) look at the Join type field on the Relations tab, 2) look at how the report is Grouping, and 3) look at Conditions tab.

Hi @CorbinHurst ,

Looking at your screenshot, I would suggest verifying that your controls are in the correct section of the report.  If you are grouping in the order number, there will typically be a header section for the order, a detail section, and then a footer section for the order.  Make sure that your line details are in the detail section.  You might also set the visibility to false for any sections that don't contain any controls.  Empty sections can create white space on the report.

Hope this helps!

Thanks @Laura02 and @lauraj46

It was indeed Grouping on the report side... i was able to get it functioning properly.

I have though found an issue with how i joined POline and SOline for when there are multiple PO’s open for an item. WIll make a new topic for that one.
