Hello Acumatica Community,

I am customizing the delivery note report (SO642000) in Report Designer, and I need to display the customer contact information from the related Sales Order (SO301000).

To do this, I believe I need to join the SOOrder table to the SOShipment table, but I’m not sure how to properly set up this join in the report.

Could someone please guide me on:

  • How to join SOOrder to SOShipment in Report Designer?

  • Which fields should be used to link them correctly?

  • Any best practices for adding this kind of join?

Thank you very much for your support!

Best regards,
Pantea

Hi @PanteaShahrian ,

You can join SOOrder.ContactID = Contact.ContactID.  The Contact DAC includes fields for FirstName and LastName.

Hope this helps!

Hello!

The SOShipment needs to be tied to the SOShipLine table.  The SOShipmentLine table has the sales order number available.

The shipment header can technically have more than one sales order reflected, so it is the line level that has the link to the sales order number.

I hope that helps!

Hello and thank you for your help!

That makes sense and I was able to join the tables successfully.

However, I actually need to display the first name and last name of the customer contact separately (not the full ContactID description).

Currently, when I use the ContactID description field from SOOrder, it shows something like:

KopierenBearbeiten

LastName FirstName; Title

But I would like to display just:

KopierenBearbeiten

FirstName LastName

Is there a way to access the FirstName and LastName fields directly from the related contact record (Customer Contact)?

Thank you again for your support!

Best regards,
Pantea
