I was looking through the Acumatica new feature with 26R1 for Excel-Based Financial Reporting with InsightXL. Just wanted to see the experience with this?

We've started evaluating InsightXL in 2026 R1 and see it as a promising addition, particularly for finance teams that are most comfortable working in Excel.

From a business perspective, the biggest advantage is reducing the manual export and refresh cycle. If your month end process involves exporting data from Acumatica, updating Excel workbooks, and rebuilding analyses, InsightXL has the potential to streamline that significantly by keeping reports connected to live financial data.

That said, I would approach it as an evolving feature rather than a replacement for existing reporting solutions just yet. Since it's new I'd recommend piloting it with a few core reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) before considering a broader rollout. This gives your finance team an opportunity to evaluate performance, ease of maintenance, and whether it meets your reporting requirements.

For organizations currently using ARM, InsightXL could provide a more familiar reporting experience for users who prefer Excel. For those already invested in mature third-party Excel reporting tools, I'd compare functionality carefully before making a transition, as those products have had years to mature.

Overall, I think InsightXL is a positive step in Acumatica's financial reporting strategy. I'd encourage customers to start exploring it now, provide feedback through the Community, and expect the feature set to continue maturing over the upcoming releases.
