We have a Call Sales Report in Report Designer that shows all of the notes/comments a sales rep has entered based on a date range. When the report is put into production and brought up as an axd the full report does not show. Clicking on the HTML also reveals that a major portion of the report is missing as the report should be several pages long, but only one page shows up. Even exporting the report as a PDF has missing parts of the report. In the Report Designer → Common Settings, PdfCompressed = TRUE, PDFFontEmbedded = TRUE, PrintAllPages = TRUE, ViewPDF = TRUE. I’ve tried using the ConvertHtmlToText = False, that cut off the headers (headers have the account number and business name for each visit) for each days entrys. CanGrow = True, CanShrink = True, CanSplit=True. Any suggestions as to how this can be fixed will be appreciated.

Hi @wmatthews1877 ,

I tested and it seems to work properly for me.  Did you reduce the height sections to eliminate white space, and set the ‘Keep Together’ property to false for the new detail section?

Hi @wmatthews1877

There are some problems in your report as follows:
1/. Relationships: not correct

=> I have updated it in the attached report file

2/. Filters: CRActivity.Type => not correct.

Note:
- CRActivity.Type = C (Chat)
- CRActivity.Type = N (Note)
- CRActivity.Type = M (Message)
- CRActivity.Type = P (Phone Call)
...

Please refer to the attached report file I have edited.

Best Regards,

NNT

Hi NNT, I appreciate all the research and work you did to supply us with the zip file. The original report is working except for two reports sales members have submitted. What is happening is that the report is not completely rendering in PDF, and this is evidenced by clicking on the </> showing the html version. What is showing on the report screen (not the Report Designer Preview, which does show everything that is in the report) is only a partial PDF report. We’ve attempted to use the “CanGrow”, “CanShrink”, “CanSplit” for the text box with the same results. This only happens on two of the reports, and at first I thought maybe it could be the Adobe and the browser, but it’s happening on Chrome, Edge, FireFox. I wish I could send you the final results of the report, but it would take a lot of redacting to clean it up before I could send it.

Hi NNT

Attached are screen shots showing the “Incomplete Rendered PDF” and the </> complete html as text which you would think wouldn’t have any issues. I’ve never come across anything like this before where the document is completely there but can’t be completed as a rendered PDF.

HI NNT This is company wide, and not just my machine. I am embedding a screen shot showing what it should be similar to: This is the complete PDF rendering.

Hi @wmatthews1877

I tested and I understand the situation you described. This happens for [CRActivity.Subject] with too long content (content longer than one A4 page). It seems that when clicking View PDF, it only displays on one A4 page, content exceeding one A4 page is not displayed.

Currently I haven't found a way to completely fix it, but I have a temporary solution as follows:

After RUN REPORT > Click "PRINT"

At the Print screen:

  • Destination > Select “Save as PDF”
  • Pages: Select “All”
  • Click “Save”

The PDF file is exported with all pages.

Best Regards,

NNT

Hi NNT It’s not just happening with A4. I’ve changed the page from A4 to Letter, 8.5in x 11in and the same thing happens, even saving to a pdf when “printing”. What is seen on the page is the only thing showing up in the pdf. This also happens in every browser that Acumatica is brought up in. Maybe its time to possibly get the Acumatica Developers on this one? Just a thought. Back to the drawing board. If you have any other thoughts or know anyone else that may help, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @wmatthews1877 ,

Try setting the KeepTogether property on the Detail section to False.  I tested and this seemed to resolve the pagination issue in my test environment (2024 R2).

Hope this helps!

Hi lauraj46 That worked, but then the “headers” that we have in the Detail Section went missing. The header information for each contact that day has been put into the Detail Section so that the information is directly associated with the notes from the sales rep. I’ve tried putting that information in its own pageHeader, groupHeader, etc., nothing shows up, so either I’m not putting the “header” in the correct area or something else got hosed up. We are close those.

Hi @wmatthews1877 ,

Not sure why it’s doing that, but try creating a second detail section (you can right click and choose “duplicate section”.  Move the CRActivity.Body field to detailSection2.  Be sure that this new section also has the KeepTogether property set to False.

I tested, and with this change it printed the headings correctly.

Hope this helps!

Laura

Hi lauraj46

In the Report Designer, it looks perfect with the suggested changes, but once it is in the Live company, there is the header, an extremely big gap between the header and the first text and again not all of the report is showing even if saved to a pdf or printed to a pdf file instead of the printer.
