Pricing an opportunity

What is the best way to have the system apply a particular set of prices to an opportunity based on the class or attribute of the lead or opportunity ?

It seems to bring in the base price of the item until the opportunity is linked to a Business account and after linking the business account to a price class.

It seems a long way around.

Thanks

Hi Vijay,

Actually, this feature request does exist.  It is 8 years old and in the “gathering feedback stage”.  I am hoping that this will push it along.

Thanks

Hi @jmorgan

You create Customer Price Classes for Business Account groups for which you want to have different pricing policies.

Choose Customer Price Classes for Business Account at Price Class.

Create sales prices applicable to Customer Price Classes on the Sales Price screen.

The test result is as follows.

Best Regards,

NNT

Hi @jmorgan

I don't see an option to set price based on Class or Attribute of a Lead or Opportunity. You may explore customization and also post a feature request on ideas page of community. You may elaborate the business requirement on feature request.

Hi NNT,

Thanks for this.  Yes that is fine if the lead and opportunity are linked to a business account but in most cases they are not.

A lead by definition is new to the business and some of our clients will provide pricing before creating a Business Account.
