PTO accrual limits exceeded

We have had this issue every year. I was told that it was a bug and new update would fix it but it is stillt he same issue. Anyone else?

PTO Accrual - We accrue a certain amount of vacation and sick time throughout the calendar year and have a limit each year. This has been set up and worked in years past, but this year Acumatica seems to have exceeded the accrual, even though the maximum for the year has been reached. Anyone experiencing this same problem? I checked the PTO codes and they are all still set up correctly.

@khunt07,

The Balance Limit sets a cap on the amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) that an employee can have at any given time. For example, if the limit is set to 40 hours, the employee will accrue time off up to that limit but will not accumulate any additional hours until they take time off. Once they do take leave and their balance falls below 40 hours, they will begin to accrue PTO again until they reach the limit.

If you want to prevent the employee from accruing any more PTO once they reach the limit, the current method to achieve that is by frontloading the hours instead of using an accrual system.

If I understand correctly, you're suggesting adding another limit type that allows employees to accrue only up to a specific number of hours per year. Some State Paid Sick Leave policies or Collective Bargaining Agreements have different accrual limits depending on whether the time off is frontloaded or accrued. Generally, policies that use frontloading may require more time off.

Thank you Sonia for your response. Office employees accrue 10 days each year for sick time. They accrue this time throughout the year and it is updated after each payroll based on the timecards. We use the balance limit box to include the max hours. When we first started using Acumatica this worked the first couple years. This no longer works. I could even use the Hours per Year bucket but when I create a new accrual line item in employee class under the PTO bank, it never lets me put anything in this box.
