Just upgraded to 2024R2, i have an employee that just moved to a different county (still in the state) and i changed the zip code to the new address but the employee taxes are not populating with the new county tax code. Any ideas why?

Thank you!

Indiana has a rule that taxes its employees based on where they live and/or work on January 1 of the calendar year.

Did you do a Tax Update in Tax Maintenance?

@mblassingame35  Yes i did. i updated taxes in tax maintainence, applied taxes to employees, and completely logged out and logged back in :/

I also saw something that stated i needed to enter the zip code +4.. but no one elses is set up that way and i added the +4 and that didnt work either.

You may need to check the work location being used on the paycheck. You may need to add a new work location.

Even though we only have 1 work location? I also have another employee that lives in the same city and his works correctly.

If i do need to set up another work location, would it accept it if it is the same as the one that is already in there?

Then I would compare the settings of both employees to see what is different for the one that is not working.

Couple things to verify…

You mention you changed the zip code, but did you change the street address and city (if applicable) to the new address also?  Taxes need full address not just zip codes.

On the Employee Payroll Settings record for that employee, did you use the “Import Taxes” button?

Stacy16 -

Which state?  Asking because in Indiania the employee is taxed based on where they live or work as of January 1.

Stacy,

If this is not for Indiana, then open a support case.

Thank you,
