I was just wondering why the "Reason Settings" option is hidden in the Approval Maps in MYOB Acumatica?

I was hoping to enable 'Reason for rejection', as my company's CEO requested that a reason be required when rejecting approvals. However, I can’t seem to find any option in the Approval Maps to make the Reason for Rejection mandatory — unlike in standard Acumatica.

Would you happen to know how we can utilise the Reason field in the Approvals tab across any screen? At the moment, it’s always blank.

I got it now. I created a new approval map and found out that the Reason Settings is hidden for the Sales Order entity but not in any other entities like Employee Time Cards, Journal Transactions, etc. I wonder why, and if there is a setting somewhere that will enable it for the Sales Order. Or is it because the Sales order screen has customisations applied on it?

Hi @madelcorvera

You aren’t seeing the Reason Settings because it’s a Sales Order approval map.

The new Approval Reasons feature isn’t rolled out to that screen yet (in both Acumatica core and MYOB Acumatica):

Here are the screens/approvals that can use the new feature so far:

On the Approval Maps (EP205015) form, the Reason Settings section on the Rule Actions tab is now shown if one of the following entity types is selected:

  • Bills and Adjustments
  • Cash Purchases
  • Cash Sales
  • Cash Transactions
  • Checks and Payments
  • Invoices and Memos
  • Payments and Applications

Hi,

I’m using MYOB Acumatica and can see these options you mention on the Assignment & Approval Maps screen (EP205500). I use these Maps for employee leave approvals.

Sorry, not sure why they are hidden for you now...

Thanks @CCC , although that is weird. I’ll try to find out why.

Sorry, I only use the system for payroll. And the approval mapping and company tree sections I find confusing and not very user friendly.
There are help/wiki pages on Sales Order Preferences, and Specific Approvals: Sales Orders, but the info is a bit beyond me… :(
