We have recently updated our overhead rates on some of our Work Centers. when applying labor to a production order that was created before the update date the old rate is being used. If the production order was created after the update it is using the new rate. Is this a bug or a feature? if it is a feature is there a way to have the older production order use the new rate?

This is by design to prevent unwanted changes to existing Production Orders.

You would need to change the overhead directly on each Production Order which has already been created if you want the new overhead rate to be applied.  (i.e. on the Overhead Tab or Production Order Details)

Thanks for this post. It just helped me resolve one of the ticket from client :-)

If you keep the factor static and maintain fluctuating overheads as separate Overhead IDs (eg. WATER-WC1, WATER-WC2), you can update cost rates directly in BOM>Overheads and it should flow down to all Production Orders.

Labor/Move testing - Cost of 1 qty inventory increasing/decreasing
following an increase/decrease in the BOM>Overheads screen
