Include Unique Record ID in generic inquiry

I am new to Acumatica, so, please be patient with me. I need to export production order records from Acumatica. I am successfully doing that but I have been requested to update information back into Acumatica so I thought that if I had the unique record id then finding the right record to update would be easier. My issue is, I don’t see an option to include the unique value (primary index?) when doing the initial export of data. Is there a way to include the unique record id in a generic inquiry? Thanks in advance!

I would recommend going through these course to learn how to work with Acumatica data via API from an external system.

The (composite) key fields for a production order record in Acumatica are AMProdItem.OrderType, and AMProdItem.ProdOrdID

AMProdItem.NoteID is a GUID and will also be unique.

Michael,

Thank you for your answer. So to be clear, there is no unique record id guid field for the work order header but it uses that combination of ordertype and prodordid. Is that the same for production order operations?

Thanks!

Alan

Well, the NoteID is a unique record id, but that’s typically not used when referencing records for updating inside of Acumatica. I do think you can update records via API using the NoteID.

The production order operations also have a noteID field “AMProdOper.NoteID” that is a unique ID.

What process are you wanting to use to update the records?

New to Acumatica so learning as I go, but I assume I will be using the REST API to update the records.
