Is there a way to configure a Tax Report Line that includes a Taxable Amount AND the Tax Amount?

 

Example:

Can I add a line 7 that sums lines 5 + 6 ?

I guess the answer to my original question is No.
You cannot use the system “Tax Report Lines” to include both the Taxable Amount and Tax Amount.

This combining behaviour would need to be done after the fact by an output like a Report or Generic Inquiry.

Hello,

I did a quick test as follows:

Added a new Tax Agency with 3 lines in Report Lines tab of  Report Settings. When I add the third line, a Total, I must choose Update With - either Tax or Taxable Amount, not both.

Must choose Update With on a Total line.

Next, non-total report lines were added to Reporting Groups tab of the Reporting Settings screen:

Add non-total lines, then use Group Details to define summed lines.

Last, I used Reporting Groups to add 2 individual report lines to the total:

At this point, I think the Total on line 3 is not going to work because in Reporting Settings screen, the Calculation Rule did not update with 1 + 2: empty Calc. Rule is not normal behavior for Reporting Settings screen after configuring Reporting Groups:

Next I looked at standard Acumatica report Tax Summary:

I expect a Report Designer could do a small customization to add a Variable to Tax Summary Report, with an If Statement to sum lines 1 and 2, and produce a new Total that represents Taxable Sales + Sales Tax Charged.

A similar customization could add Taxable Amount to Tax Amount on the Tax Details report.

I had also concluded the Reporting Lines/Groups/Settings approach may not be possible, just threw it out there in case someone else had tried this and found any success.

 

My next line of thinking was to explore creating/modifying a Generic Inquiry (GI) or Report that performs the additional calcs/sums.

A GI to replicate the Prepare Tax Report (TX501000) and/or Release Tax Report (TX502000) screens, with the additional “Taxable + Tax” lines would be ideal as an easy to use, on-screen solution, without needing to “run a report”
