Hi there,

I’m wanting to create journals that hit Inventory ID.

For background, we only have non-stock items, and don’t have any stock items as our business doesn’t deal with inventory.

However, when I click into Inventory ID to select a stock item, the pop up only shows Stock items, which of course we don’t use/don’t have any.

How do I get it to show our Non Stock so I can select that?

In contrast, the journals seem to be able to do this, below is a journal with a source document originating from the Receivables module, where the non stock item has been chosen on the invoice document.

Invoice:

Thank you.

If that is the case then you might do the adjustments on the subsidiary ledger itself, (Inventory, Payable, Receivable), so that it will suffice your requirements.

@john36

Create on the [NON STOCK ITEM] Profile.

Hi Rico,

We’ve created many non-stock items already - this appears to be a functionality limitation?

Now I get what you are trying to do, the field only shows STOCK ITEMS, but a work around since you are trying to make entry, you don’t need the non stock item code but instead do the normal entry using the GL Account code which was tag to your specific [NON STOCK ITEM].

Thank you

Hi Rico, thanks for your suggestion.

As you can see below, we have many non-stock items allocated to 1 GL account, therefore, we are wanting to track it by non-stock item, because if we only track it using the GL account, we cannot see for each non-stock item, how much revenue has been generated.

Do you have any other ideas?

For anyone else looking into this, as selecting non-stock items is a limitation from the GL form, we ended up figuring out another work around to achieve our unique goal.
