Quick Search for Vendor field on AP reports parameter tab not working

Hello,

We have seen that for 2024R2 build 24.204.0004 and 24.208.0020, the quick search for the Vendor field on AP reports parameter tab does not work.  

Additional testing shows that it works in 2023R2 (23.208.0026) and 2025R1 (25.093.0036). Therefore, we assume that it got broken in 2024R2 and then corrected in 2025R1.

Acumatica, will this be corrected in 2024R2?

Someone had posted about this 2024R2 issue sometime last year but I have not been able find the article. It referenced that the =Report.GetFieldSchema('VendorReportParameters.VendorID') may have an issue in the DAC.

The backdrop to this has to do with an upgrade we are looking to do for a client, from 2023R2 (23.208.0026) to 2024R2 (24.204.0004). We discovered the issue during sandbox testing.

Below are some screen images of the parament screen for the AP Balance by Vendor report. The first shows the issue with the quick search and the other two shows it working.

 

Build: 24.208.0020 (Demo)

We have tested it in following builds and it works: 

Build: 23.208.0026 (Client)
Build: 25.093.0036 (Demo)

@thomassherman51 This is a known issue which has already been addressed in 2025R1.

 Hello ​@hkabiri, we do see that the issues has been addressed in 2025R1, which is still in beta, so why not fix it in 2024R2.

There are those who may want to upgrade to or remain on 2024R2 until 2025R1 becomes available and stable. Especially those on Acumatica Flex with customizations and add-ons.

@thomassherman51, I can’t agree more and you are being kind.  This lookup / search box issue is all through Acumatica now.  This issue is unacceptable and the response from Acumatica is even worse.  Waiting until 2025R1 ?!?!?!

With forced upgrades, we are going to be stuck moving to buggy versions.  Like you, I am trying to upgrade once a year and only move to the most stable version. 

This is BASIC functionality.  I had users make fun of the upgrade because of this issue. Can’t wait to tell them we are upgrading again after telling them we were moving to once a year in February. 

I personally try to provide my users with the most mouse free experience possible.  This is a hit to efficiency.  

I hate to be, and sound, so negative, but the response from Acumatica on this has me furious.  Put the fix in 2024R2.

Got 2 clients with the same complaint.  And they just got upgraded to 2024 R2. Hopefully they get a fix on the 2024R2 builds

We installed the update last night that fixed the search box issue in 2024R2.  I don’t know how or why Acumatica had a change of heart and decided to fix it now instead of in 2025R1.  I am just thrilled they did!!
