I’ve gotten feedback that percentage complete revenue recognition functionality imbedded in the Acumatica Project Accounting module defaults to calculating revenue at the project task level. I have always seen those calculations done at the total project level, in large part because project billing milestones don’t line up neatly with budgeted cost line items. As such, I am surprised that Acumatica defaults the calculation to the project task level. I’m wondering if I’m missing something. For anyone who has implemented percentage complete revenue recognition automation in Acumatica, are you doing it at the project task level, or the total project level?

One thing I have folks do is manually set task percentage so the rec is “automated” after a manual task percentage intervention. Otherwise yeah, a lot of my clients don’t necessarily have cost at the same level as their revenue (many costs per revenue line) and so it’s impossible to get the task percentage to automatically update correctly.
I think you can also set up an allocation to update the task percentage based on the full project status.
