Discrepancy in GL and AR Aging

Hi,

The GL is showing the AR balance in CAD and USD as below, but the actual totals (as per the attached file) differ significantly.

Additionally, the balance as of today is showing a large discrepancy and appears in the negative. Could you please advise on the possible reasons for this issue?

  • When was the last period that balanced?  Did it ever balance?  (if not, then you’ve likely got issues going back to go-live)
  • Are your AR GL accounts marked as control accounts and are manual entries allowed?
    • If manual entries are allowed, this will cause discrepancies.  Check for any entries in the AR accounts coming from the GL module (or any other non-AR module)
  • Since you have multiple currencies, have you revalued your foreign currency transactions already?  What I have found is that the AR reports will balance prior to revaluation, but after revaluation they may not.
  • Sometimes the summary tables get out of whack.  Have you tried running “Recalculate Customer Balances”?
