Good day Community

I have created a Fixed Asset from the Convert Purchases to Asset option and now need to add an additional amount to the same asset from the same screen.

The Receipt dates are different but I need the In-Service-dates to be the same for both amounts so they will depreciate as a single asset.

I am not able to do this on the Convert Purchases to Asset screen.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

@BarbaraPietersen23 - Hopefully you’ve come up with a solution since this was originally posted.  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to update the Placed-In-Service date after you’ve generated a depreciation transaction.  However, if you haven’t, you can still update that field.  Additionally, the Placed-In-Service date is not editable when on the Convert Purchases to Assets screen when you uncheck the Create Asset checkbox.

Even if you reconcile the addition manually and set the Tran. Date (reconciliation tab) to the Placed-In-Service date, although the Purchasing+ transaction of the addition will show up in that period, I can’t see a way for the corresponding Depreciation+ transaction(s) to appear earlier than when the addition truly entered the system.
