Has anyone found a method to auto release reversing journal entries? They get created on Hold and we are finding that users are making changes to them prior to release. We need to prevent that.

      1. Navigate to the General Ledger Preferences (GL102000) form.

  1. Ensure that the "Automatically Post on Release" check box is selected to allow the system to post batches automatically upon release

  2. When you create a journal entry, select the "Reversing Entry" check box to indicate that it should create a reversing batch

  3. At the end of the period or on posting, the system will automatically generate the reversing entries based on the original batch

I need to clarify what I am asking for.

For a posted journal entry where “reverse” is an option I would like for the reversing entry to auto release\post.

In our system the journal entry created by selecting “reverse” in a posted journal entry creates a new reversing entry with reference to the original batch number yet the new reversing entry is on hold.

We are finding that our users are editing that reversing batch prior to releasing it which is causing some reconciliation difficulties.
