Acumatica Bank Integrations - Canada

I’m not from North America, but Acumatica support “Plaid” and “MX” standards for bank feeds.

Plaid list their integration partners here: https://plaid.com/institutions/

I can’t easily find a list of MX insittutions.

Your account manager at your bank should be able to clarify which technologies are available for integration/what are on their roadmaps.

In May of 2026, after repeated issues with the MX Bank Feed failing, my Acumatica client and I were advised that Acumatica does not support Plaid or MX Bank Feeds for Canadian financial institutions. 

It seems that neither Plaid nor MX can navigate the banks’ 2FA/MFA security to successfully connect to the client’s bank account. 

We tried using the SFTP Bank Feed. It successfully connects and downloads the bank transaction file and imports the transactions into a new Import Bank Transactions form… but if two or more transactions in the file have the same “Bank Reference #” (Ext. Tran. ID), only the first bank transaction gets imported. Any other transactions with the same “Bank Reference #” are skipped by the import routine, assumed to be duplicate transactions.

The SFTP Bank Feed requires that the bank create the bank transaction file using the BAI2 version 3 file format. In this file format, there are no unique transaction IDs and the bank cannot assign unique transaction IDs as this available in the standard BAI2 file layout / format.

The action to skip duplicate Bank Reference # transactions in the import process is documented in the online help for the SFTP Bank Feed on line help wiki. 

So, the bottom line for Acumatica Bank Feeds in Canada is that none of the Bank Feed options will work properly.

Researching for a viable workaround. I will also be submitting a support ticket to request a product enhancement to remove the skipping of so-called “duplicate” Bank Reference # in the BAI2 bank transaction file. The BAI2 file contains the actual transactions posted to the customer’s bank account and is created by the bank. It is accessed via a secure SFTP connection. The bank transaction import process used by the SFTP Bank Feed should not skip any transactions in the file. It should import all transactions.
